Executioner's Star

The preferred method of execution for violent (or treasonous) criminals in the Dragaeran Empire employs the Executioner's Star.

This is a five-pointed star-shaped platform upon which the condemmed is strapped down and then has each limb struck off in sequence, in addition to their head.

Presumably the type of crime committed by the convicted dictates how many limbs are removed (and hence the amount of suffering for the condemmed) prior to the fatal decapitation.

The executed have their names added to lists cut into the marble blocks around the star. Such a memorial is known as Fiscom's Honor.
