A Jhereg assassin.

Ishtvan's first encounter with Vlad Taltos was during the events of Jhereg when he was hired to kill one of the Sorceresses of the Left Hand who was spreading rumors about Mellar. Vlad was impressed with how quickly Ishtvan worked, and asked Kragar to keep him in mind for future "work".

Later, when Vlad was fighting Herth in South Adrilankha, Vlad hired Ishtvan again to take out Quaysh, an assassin sent to kill Vlad. Ishtvan again acquitted himself well, and Vlad's life was saved.

After the events of Phoenix, Ishtvan became one of the assassins of the Jhereg out to kill Vlad. We find him working with Loraan during the events of Athrya. He and Loraan were not getting along well, a fact that Vlad used to his advantage.

Vlad killed Ishtvan, with Savn's help, after Ishtvan first failed to recognize Vlad's weakened state, then turned his back on Vlad in a moment of carelessness.
