Elde Island could be a reference to the island of Elba, in our Mediterranean Sea. This was the original location where Napoleon Bonaparte was exiled after his defeat in 1814 under the Treaty of Fontainebleau.

Specifically, there are similarities in spelling, in the location of the island (off the southern coast of a major continent), and in the fact that it played host to an exiled noble who had attempted to usurp the crown.
