The ninth book in the Vlad Taltos series. The book was published in 2001 by Tor Books, and is told from Vlad's point of view.

Throughout the book are several conversations between Vlad Taltos and Teldra, so that when one reaches the concluding chapter, one realizes that the overall book can almost be considered a love story. It is also one of the funniest Vlad novels.
