A friend of Vlad Taltos, Ricard works as a bookkeeper at a slaughterhouse. While Vlad was living in Adrilankha, he and Vlad would occasionally eat together at Valabar's.

When Vlad reappeared in Adrilankha, Ricard helped him assemble a makeshift surveillance network to keep tabs on the activites of the Left Hand.
