Yendi might let in to their House someone who was clever enough to con, bamboozle and manipulate 17 Yendi. But they wouldn't tell anyone about this, of course. The one wanting to join would have to figure it out.

Or maybe just one Yendi, if it was the right one... In fact, if you had to manipulate more than one Yendi Council member to get in, they'd probably deny you entry on that count alone.

Well, we don't know if there is a Yendi Council. But I would bet that if a member of the Yendi Council was found to have been manipulated, bamboozled and/or conned by a non-Yendi, the reaction of the other members of the Council would be to kick the fooled one off the council, not allow in the one who did the fooling.

Which is why I think it would have to be multiple Yendis manipulated. One fool can be turned on; multiple con victims would have to grit their teeth and accept that the con man is a sufficiently skilled manipulator.

I'd imagine this house would have some kind of artistic test. You know, send out matchbooks with "Draw this teckla and you too might have what it takes...!"
