Talk:Morganti

From the Lyorn Records of the Dragaeran Empire

Jump to: navigation, search

"They are typically despised in normal Dragaeran culture, but not as much among Easterners, ironically. " This seems wrong to me. What is this comment based on? Vlad (if we generalize from one example) hates them far more than any Dragaeran. - Attjen

This seems to be inconsistent within the texts. In TPG, for example, Crinofenarr seems to have no problems weilding a Morganti sword against Khaavren, yet all the Dragaerans present are visibly upset by this. At the same time, in Dragon, Vlad can't even enter the room full of morganti weapons until Daymar mutes their effects. It would seem this has more to do with Vlad personally, than it does with Easterners in general?

However, however I believe that quote is more or less directly from one of the early Vlad books (Yendi? Jhereg?). --Majikjon

Removed text from article: "They are typically despised in normal Dragaeran culture, but not as much among Easterners, ironically."

Text from Dragon: "There are matters on which Dragaeran and humans will never understand each other, and soul-killing weapons are, evidently, one of those. I mean, they hate them as much or more than we do, but Dragaerans don't have the sort of overwhelming dread that such weapons inspire in a human." - Attjen

struck this bullet point:

  • Necromantically bind your soul away from your body. (The Can't-Touch-This clause, used by Loraan)

We have absolutely no textual evidence to indicate that this was how Loraan survived Blackwand. Loraan's survival is a complete mystery. Any thoughts on said survival at this point belong on a Loraan (speculation) page.
