Talk:Redface

From the Lyorn Records of the Dragaeran Empire

Jump to: navigation, search

I switched from is to was to is to was multiple times, and couldn't decide which was to go. I'm fine with is.

It is a bit strange though that Aliera never discusses Redface in the Vlad novels. Who would have taken over? Wouldn't it be a bit of a sore point? - Attjen

Maybe, maybe not. Aliera might be willing to allow her cousin and savior Morrolan to retain the duchy and the castle, for various reasons. It might also be that the duchy and castle is in the process of being transferred to her, and it's just the slow process of the Dragaeran legal system that is holding things in a sort of limbo.

[edit] Redface

Do we know that Aliera doesn't still live at Redface? Maybe she does, but since she always teleports to places when Vlad sees her, her home is never mentioned?

Certainly a possibility for speculation, but there's nothing to even hint in that direction. With teleportation, anyone might live anywhere, really. Perhaps Kragar lives in Candletown and just teleports in to work in Adrilankha. Who knows?

Also, Redface may have been destroyed in Adron's Disaster. Remember, no one knew Kieron's Watch was held up by sorcery until the Orb disappeared and it fell down. Something similar could have happened to Redface.

If so, I think that Paarfi would have mentioned it in his description of the place, since he was writing after the Interregnum. Note that he did not neglect to mention the fall of Kieron's Watch.

Also, note the fall of Kieron's Watch was a very significant historic event--which gets noted several times in the Vladiad--as the destruction of Redface would likely have to be. The lack of any mention of its demise in both Vladiad and Paarfiad speaks volumes. Especially the Paarfiad. --Majikjon 05:05, 29 November 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Redface

Yes, the destruction of Redface is never mentioned, but neither is Redface. It was such a key aspect of the political dealings of the Empire prior to the disaster, it seems very significant in its absence. Perhaps Castle Black has usurped its role as most important Castle of the House of Dragon.

Four tildes, eh?
